The OU Sooners called on us for a much-needed lighting upgrade to their Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium Concourse. Three things needed to be accomplished: we needed to lower energy usage, save on energy costs, and raise the quality of light. They started with 180 metal halide fixtures at 175 watts, a total wattage of 31,500, and an average lifespan of 16,000 hours. The old lighting was costing OU around $21,247.
We replaced all metal halide fixtures with 45-watt LED fixtures, lowering the total wattage to 8,100 and increasing the average lifespan to 200,000 hours or 23 years. This upgrade gave them $15,889 of annual savings.
