Alliance Steel called Hunzicker Brothers to help upgrade the lighting for a safer work environment in their manufacturing plant. They needed three things: lower energy use, savings on energy costs, and raising the quality of lighting for their team. They had 574 metal halide fixtures with 400-watt 10-20 foot candles at a total wattage of 229,600 and 1,084,077 total kilowatt hours. It was costing Alliance Steel $54,203 annually.
We replaced all halide fixtures with LED fixtures, raising the foot candles to 45-65, lowering the total watts to 166,592, and drastically decreasing the total kilowatt hours to 344,283. This reduced the total annual cost of operations to $17,214.
